Clarity Research has conducted significant numbers of event-based research studies over the past several years. Our highly experienced interviewers conduct intercept interviews with event attendees using hand-held, touch-screen computers or paper and pencil surveys, depending on circumstances. When prototype security is not an issue, manufacturers find automotive and motorcycle events to be a cost-effective way to get customer feedback in a clinic-style setting. High percentages of show and race attendees are relevant vehicle owners, making it somewhat easy to do intercept screening to qualify potential clinic respondents.
Some examples of our event-based work include...
Auto Show Research
Automobile event research is a significant part of our business. We frequently conduct research among show attendees for a miriad of reasons: display evaluations, new product designs, feedback on concept vehicles and new technologies, to name a few. We are regular fixtures at major shows held in Detroit, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, as well as smaller shows such as Raleigh, Kansas City and Peoria, Illinois. Automobile event research is a cost-effective way to obtain feedback from automotive enthusiasts nationwide.
Powersports Event Monitor (PEM)
Clarity Research conducts a proprietary event research study called the Powersports Event Monitor (PEM). PEM is an attendee profile survey conducted at vendor-display and race events. Vendor-display events are shows like the IMS motorcycle shows and the Sand Sports Super Show. Racing events are based primarily on the AMA Superbike racing series at tracks all over the country. These event attendees tend to be enthusiastic about powersports equipment, often with near-term purchase horizons. PEM maintains a normative database and written reports are available after each event.
Vendor Display & Race Events
Besides PEM, Clarity Research has conducted many ad hoc research studies at motorcycle, ATV and side-by-side utility vehicle events throughout the United States. Tracks include Infineon, Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca, Road America, Mid-Ohio Raceway, Virginia International Raceway, Daytona, Barber Motorsports Park and Miller Motorsports Park. Automobile event research can be conducted at racetracks as well.
We have conducted research at numerous enthusiast events, including Camp Jeep, Daytona Bike Week, Laughlin River Run, Americade and Wing Ding. These are great places to conduct automobile event research and motorcycle event research among avid enthusiasts.
